Privacy Policy

Yello is a daily check-in app. Someone confirms once a day that they're okay, and if they don't, the person who cares about them is notified. This policy explains what we store to make that work, and what we don't.

Yello does not track location. We do not collect GPS data, movement history, or any information about where you are. The app records that a check-in happened and when, never where.

What we collect

DataWhy
Name and email address To create your account and let the people connected to you recognise who you are.
Phone number (optional) Only if you choose to receive missed check-in alerts by text.
Push notification token To deliver your daily check-in reminder and missed check-in alerts.
Time zone So your check-in arrives at the right time on your own clock rather than ours.
Check-in records The time a check-in was scheduled, and whether it was completed or missed.
Schedule settings The time of day, days of the week, and response window you chose.
Subscription status To know whether an account has access to the monitoring features.

What we do not collect

Who can see your information

If you are being monitored, the person you accepted an invite from can see your name, your check-in schedule, and whether each check-in was completed or missed. They cannot see your email address, your phone number, or anything else in your account.

Nobody else using Yello can see any of your data. Access is enforced at the database level, not just in the app.

Who we share with

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. We share it only with the services that run the app:

We may also disclose information if we are legally required to.

How long we keep it

Your account and check-in history are kept while your account is active. Invite codes expire after seven days. When you delete your account, everything associated with it is removed within 30 days, including check-in history and any relationships you were part of.

Deleting your account

Open Account in the app and choose Delete Account, or email support@getyello.app from your registered address. We do not require a reason and we will not try to talk you out of it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit with TLS and encrypted at rest by our hosting provider. Your sign-in credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device rather than in ordinary app storage. Access rules are enforced by the database itself, so one account cannot read another's data even if the app is modified.

Children

Yello is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to how we process it. Email support@getyello.app and we will respond within 30 days.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that materially affects you, we will notify you in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
